Northanger Abbey was the first novel by the renowned novelist Jane Austen. Even when she was still working on Sense and Sensitivity and Pride and Prejudice. The written work was completed in 1798. During 1803 it was taken to the printing press for revision but it was not until 1817 that the novel was revised again by the printers and published posthumously after the author’s death.

Description

"Northanger Abbey" by Jane Austen is a novel published in 1817. The story follows Catherine Morland, a young and imaginative heroine who is invited to visit the fashionable resort town of Bath. Catherine is fascinated by Gothic novels and often lets her imagination run wild.

She befriends the Tilney siblings, Henry and Eleanor, and develops a romantic interest in Henry.
